A great example of how combining talent, industry experience, professional services and cutting-edge technology can transform NDT inspections.
One of the things I especially value from my collaboration with ARIX Technologies — including the design and development of the Inspection Portal — is seeing how all these pieces come together as a complete inspection ecosystem.
More data is only half the problem
ARIX's in-house robotic technology enables CUI inspections to be performed more extensively and with greater precision, combining complementary NDT techniques such as RTR and PEC.
But collecting more and better data is only part of the challenge. Turning that data into contextualised, traceable and actionable information is equally important.
Where the Inspection Portal fits
This is where the Inspection Portal plays a key role, bringing inspection data together with ARIX's unique positioning capabilities and 3D visualisation, and allowing results from different techniques to be correlated within the actual context of the inspected asset.
That last point is the one that changes the work. A reading is a number until you know where on the asset it was taken; correlated against position, and against what a different technique found at the same place, it becomes evidence.
What the value actually is
That combination of robotics, NDT expertise, software, data intelligence and professional inspection and analytics services is, in my view, where much of the real value lies: not simply inspecting more, but understanding the condition of an asset better and enabling better-informed integrity decisions.
The system itself is written up as a project, and the collaboration behind it in my experience.
